Product ID | L8217-50UG |
Name | Lqh II |
Molecular formula | |
Description |
It is a scorpion alpha-toxin, which prolongs the evoked action potential by an inhibition of sodium current inactivation in mammals. 64-amino acid polypeptide with 4 disulfide bridges, , from Leiurus quinquestriatus hebraeus scorpion venom. |
Biological activity | Lqh II is highly toxic and causes slowing and incomplete inactivation of the sodium currents. Except for the first and last amino acid residue, the sequence of Lqh II is identical to that of AaH II, a scorpion alpha-toxin from Androctonus australis Hector and has identical effects and binding properties on mammalian sodium channels. |
