Product ID | L8221-50UG |
Name | Lqh alpha IT (Native) |
Molecular formula | C329H490N94O94S8 |
Description |
A 66 amino-acids polypeptide with 4 disulfide bridges , natural, purified from Leiurus quinquestriatus hebraeus venom. |
Biological activity | Alpha toxins bind voltage-independently at site-3 of sodium channels (Nav) and inhibit the inactivation of the activated channels, thereby blocking neuronal transmission. Lqh αIT is an alpha-scorpion insect toxin, which prolongs the evoked action potential by an inhibition of sodium inactivation in insects and mammals. Highly toxic to insects, it also presents a toxicity to crustaceans and has a low, but measurable toxicity to mice. |
