Product ID | L8411-50UG |
Name | LATROCRUSTATOXIN (alpha-) |
Molecular formula | C5783H9204N1590O1750S30 |
Description |
A 1164 amino-acids peptide , natural, purified from Latrodectus (mactans) tredecimguttatus spider venom glands. |
Biological activity | In crustaceans, α-latrocrustotoxin-Lt1a binds to neurexin-1-alpha (NRXN1), adhesion G protein-coupled receptor L1 (ADGRL1, also known as latrophilin-1), and receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase S (PTPRS), and induces neurotransmitter exocytosis through two calcium-dependent mechanisms (membrane pore formation and signaling via latrophilin) and a yet to be defined calcium-independent mechanism binds with high affinity to presynaptic membranes; stimulates neurotransmitter release from nerve endings; increases intracellular Ca2+ concentration; the biological activity on nerve endings occurs at 10-10-10-9 M. |
