L8231-100UG - HsTx1
(Syn. : Potassium channel toxin alpha-KTx 6.3, Neurotoxin HsTX1)
Product ID |
L8231-100UG |
Name |
HsTx1 |
Molecular formula |
C149H246N54O46S9 |
Description |
A 34 amino-acids peptide with 4 disulfide bridges
, synthetic, initially isolated from the venom of the Giant forest scorpion Heterometrus spinifer.
|
Biological activity |
HsTx-1 potently blocks voltage-gated Kv1.3 channels (Kd close to 10 pM). HsTx-1 is also very active on Kv1.1 channels (IC50 around 7 nM). It is one of the most potent toxins active on Kv1.3 channel. HsTx-1 does not block Kv1.2/KCNA2 potassium channels and is inactive on apamin-sensitive SK channels. |
