| Biological activity | MTx7 binds irreversibly and specifically to an allosteric site of the muscarinic acetylcholine M1 receptor (CHRM1) at a subnanomolar affinity. MTx7 is the most selective M1-subtype antagonist as it is about 10,000 times more selective for M1-subtype than for other muscarinic receptors subtypes (CHRM2, CHRM3, CHRM4, CHRM5). MTx7 does not show interaction with adrenergic receptors, dopaminergic receptors, histaminic receptors and serotoninergic receptors. |
