TRACHELANTHAMINE | Product ID | L6280 |
| Name | TRACHELANTHAMINE |
| Molecular formula | C15H27NO4. |
| Description |
It is known as a weak hypotensive with moderate M- and N-cholinolytic activities. It is possibly cytotoxic Pyrrolizidine alkaloid, extracted from the plant Trachelanthus korolkowia, (Boraginaceae Fam.) |
| Biological activity | Moderate M- and N-cholinolytic properties of the Trachelanthamine are described. In view of its structural similarity with Heliotrin, weak cyto- and hepato-toxic activities are expected. Trachelantamine can be used in structure-activity studies on pyrrolizidine alkaloid cyto- and hepato-toxic compounds. Recommended doses: In vivo experiments: 1.0 - 10.0 mg/kg In vitro: 10-6 - 10-5 g/ml |
