It is a potent anti-cancer in glioblastoma cells Harmala alkaloid , obtained from Harmalin, extracted from Peganum harmala seeds. |
| Biological activity |
It decreased cell viability by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting Akt phosphorylation in glioblastoma cells. It also has ability to inhibit self-renewal and promote differentiation of glioblastoma stem like cells. It especially inhibits neurosphere formation of human primary glioblastoma stem like cells. |
